⚽ | Match Rearranged: Edinburgh City v Berwick Rangers
Berwick’s postponed match with Edinburgh City has now been rearranged for Wednesday 15th March 2017 following confirmation from the SPFL.
John Coughlin’s side were due to take City on over the weekend, but heavy rain in the Edinburgh area over Friday night had left the stand-side of the pitch unplayable in the view of referee Grant Irvine, leading to the games’ postponement at 11am.
The Dream Team will now take on Gary Jardine’s side in a fixture which will add to what is a busy fortnight for the club, with fixtures against Clyde, Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale and Cowdenbeath also scheduled.
The first of the matches will take place tomorrow as the club return to Shielfield Park to take on a Clyde side who have recently parted ways with boss Barry Ferguson. The Bully Wee are currently under the control of John Paul McGovern and Peter MacDonald as joint-managers, after Bob Malcolm took control for a game. The pair helped guide Clyde to an impressive point against league leaders Forfar Athletic over the weekend.
Wednesday evening will see Berwick travel to the Soughton Enclosure. With the first-team in action the previous night the side is likely to be comprised of Under 20’s and those who didn’t participate against Clyde. Thistle currently sit 3rd in the East of Scotland league and are also finalists in the East of Scotland Qualifying Cup.
Berwick will then return to Shielfield to take on a struggling Cowdenbeath side, the Blue Brazil currently sat bottom in Ladbrokes League Two. Like Clyde, Cowden were said to be much-improved against Stirling Albion despite defeat over the weekend, and will be looking to claw their way out of a dangerous situation.
As ever, the club would appreciate your support during what is a busy point in the season and one which could also play a major impact on shaping how we finish the campaign.
