Match Preview : Berwick Rangers v Queen’s Park FC – Ladbrokes League Two

Johnny Harvey and the boys are back in action tomorrow at Shielfield Park, welcoming Mark Roberts and his Queen’s Park side for a 3pm kick-off in League Two.

The ‘Gers will be looking to bounce back from the heavy defeat to title chasing Peterhead last weekend.

The visitors currently sit two places above Berwick in the table and Harvey will be looking to close that gap with a home victory.

A closely fought encounter ended 1-0 to Queen’s Park earlier this season at Hampden Park.

History

The two sides have met 137 times the League since they were founded and the record between the two is incredibly close. A Berwick win tomorrow would mean that both sides had 54 victories from those matches.

Berwick News

Paul Willis is still missing with injury, along with longer term casualties Ouzy See and Sean Murphy. There was further bad news on the injury front this week as Daryl Healy picked up a training ground knock and is likely to be missing until 2019. He will be missed following recent impressive performances.

Better news is that Jamie Todd completed 90 minutes with the reserves in the week and is back in contention.

Queen’s Park News

Mark Roberts signed former St Mirren forward, Alan Gow, this week to bolster his ranks. Brendan Sharpe will not be involved having left the club on loan until February.

Roberts will be without suspended Gerry McLauchlan (sent off last week) whilst Lewis Hawke will be looking to add to his strike in the 1-1 home draw last Saturday.

The Spiders are having a decent enough season and enjoyed a real purple patch in October and early November when they put together a run of six unbeaten matches. This resulted in Mark Roberts being named Manager of the Month for October.
