Sean Stewart

Date of Birth: November 1, 1995
Previous Clubs: Vale of Leithen, Penicuik Athletic
Hometown: Edinburgh

Sean agreed to join the club having signed a pre-contract agreement in April 2020, with the club keen to do business ahead of the new campaign during an enforced break that would ultimately bring the 2020/21 campaign to a premature end.

A versatile forward who can be deployed up top or from wide areas, Sean was previously with Penicuik Athletic where he impressed with his goalscoring exploits and intelligent movement.

The forward has also been with Vale of Leithen in his past, and was part of the Penicuik side that emphatically dispatched of Stenhousemuir during the 2019 Scottish Cup – netting the final goal in a 3-0 victory.

The tricky player was left facing a slow start to life at Shielfield Park due to injury, but quickly got up to speed – impressing fans with his tireless running, quick feet and highlight reel-style goals. Stewart netted 10 in 29 games last year, while also laying on another 10 for his teammates – making him an exciting prospect for ‘Gers fans going into the 22/23 campaign.

Player Sponsor

Sean’s kit is sponsored by supporter Gavin Marshall.

Based in Norwich, Gavin said: “I have always enjoyed football and often watch Scottish football. So when we decided to go on holiday in Berwick-upon-Tweed, I made it my mission to find out about the local football and of cause this was Berwick Rangers.

“On holiday I was able to find out more about Berwick Rangers from a local shopkeeper. From this I was able to find the ground – sadly no games were on that year but the following year myself and my children were able to attend a game. We loved the friendliness that we experienced and the atmosphere around the game was good too. We now visit to watch a game when we can and always enjoy the experience.”

The club would like to thank Gavin for his kind and continued support, and look forward to welcoming him and his family back to Shielfield Park during the upcoming campaign.
