Date of Birth: March 4, 1998
Previous Clubs: Livingston (youth), Newtongrange Star (loan), Arniston Rangers, Whitehill Welfare
Team Supported:
Somerville started his career in the youth set-up in Livingston where he worked with then manager Ian Little – who brought him to the club – while ‘Yano’ was in charge of Livingston U20s from June 2016 until September 2017.
During his time at Livingston, the midfielder spent time on loan at Newtongrange Star and Arniston Rangers before signing permanently for the latter in the summer of 2017 upon the expiration of his contract at Almondvale.
After a season at Arniston Rangers, Somerville signed for Whitehill Welfare where he spent two seasons – one in the Lowland League and one in the East of Scotland League.
In that time, he linked up with Little again in his spell as manager and was regarded as a key player, racking up 57 appearances, before he made his move to Shielfield Park – penning a contract for the 2020/21 season.
Somerville enjoyed a solid first season in black and gold, featuring in 15 of the club’s 16 matches – starting 12 of those. His performances were rewarded with a two-year contract extension in the spring of 2021, keeping him at the club until summer 2023.
Player Sponsor
Kieran’s kit is sponsored by Darlington-based ‘Gers fan, John Reeve.
On sponsoring Kieran, John said: “Berwick Rangers have always been my favourite Scottish club, and I’ll often spend my Saturday making the four-hour round trip to come and watch the ‘Gers from my Darlington home.
“I sponsored Kieran as I just wanted to help the club out in any way I could. Best of luck for the season!”
The club would to thank John for his valued support, and look forward to welcoming him back at Shielfield Park throughout the upcoming campaign.
