15 Jack Wright

Date of Birth: March 13, 1997
Previous Clubs: Cowdenbeath (youth), Musselburgh Athletic, Newtongrange Star, Whitehill Welfare

Wright spent time in the youth set-up at Cowdenbeath after joining from Edina Hibs but, having been unable to break through into the first-team picture at Central Park, joined Musselburgh Athletic on loan for the 2015/16 season before making the move permanent in February 2016.

For the 2016/17 season, Wright joined Newtongrange Star and then he moved on to Whitehill Welfare, where he spent two seasons – including time under Ian Little as boss – before ‘Yano’ signed the winger on his return to Shielfield Park for the 2019/20 season.

Wright made 17 appearances in all competitions in 2019/20 and his increasingly promising displays saw him extend his contract with the club for the 2020/21 campaign. That progression continued into 2020/21 as Wright became a first team regular, featuring in 15 of the club’s 16 games – starting 14 of those – and being one of the team’s most consistent performers. In the spring of 2021, Wright signed a two-year contract extension to keep him at the club until summer 2023.

Unfortunately, illness prevented Jack from featuring in the 22/23 campaign, leaving the tireless midfielder looking to comeback in the final year of his deal.
