A loyal and determined character, O’Connor has been a fine servant to the club, joining the club on no less than six separate occasions. Though O’Connor only featured prominently in three of those spells, it is testament to his passion for the club that he’d return to fill in whenever the ‘Gers were in goalkeeping crisis.

O’Connor’s crowning momet with the club would come in 2007, when he helped the ‘Gers to lift the Scottish Third Division championship.

Having played against the likes of England great Paul Gascoigne and trained alongside the likes of Scotland stopper Craig Gordon, O’Connor is as reliable a goalkeeper you will be lucky enough to find in part-time Scottish football. With spells at Hearts, Doncaster Rovers and East Fife to his name, it is clear that the stopper was always highly rated.

In fact, when O’Connor departed for a third time on what club officials will no doubt admit were disappointing terms, it was of little surprise to ‘Gers fans that he took a step upwards once again, joining Raith Rovers for two years, where he is still welcomed regularly as a visitor.
