Thrive Learning victorious in ‘Gers shirt sponsorship raffle

Nottingham-based company Thrive Learning will see its logo adorn the home and away shirts of Berwick Rangers FC during the 2020/21 season after being drawn out as the winner of the club’s shirt sponsorship raffle.

The raffle, which attracted 61 entries – raising £12,200 for the Football Club – was drawn and recorded at Shielfield Park on Saturday by Chairman Brian Porteous and club legend Eric Tait, with Thrive’s prize also including a half page programme advert, two corporate season tickets for the JB Lounge and coverage on the club’s official website and digital channels.

Thrive – a learning and communication platform, helping teams innovate training, improve communication and increase employee engagement – were statistically the most likely winners of the draw after purchasing five raffle tickets, the only entrant to purchase more than two.

Speaking about the raffle win, Sean Reddington, CEO of Thrive, said:

“We were delighted to take part and help the club prepare for the new season at this tough time. To be victorious in the raffle is just fantastic and, hopefully, this sponsorship will extend the brand and image of Thrive in a new area.”

The club will now work with Thrive and kit provider Border Embroideries to ensure that the Thrive logo is as visually appealing as possible on both the home and away shirts.

Second and third prizes were also drawn as part of the shirt sponsorship raffle offering. The second prize, which includes a half page programme advert, two corporate season tickets for the JB Lounge and a VIP away day experience on the team bus was won by SWP Engineering Ltd.

Long-time sponsors of the club, SWP Engineering – located on the Ramparts Business Park in Berwick – is a family-run engineering company. Operating from a purpose-built workshop, office and comprehensive engineering store, they have built an excellent reputation locally and nationally by concentrating on engineering and business fundamentals, namely precision workmanship, competitive pricing and excellent customer service.

The third prize, which includes a quarter page programme advert and two corporate season tickets for the JB Lounge, was won by R Curle & Sons Livestock, a business operated by former club Chairman and long-time supporter Jamie Curle.

Speaking about the success of the raffle, Chairman Brian Porteous said:

“Again, I’d just like to reiterate my thanks to all of the businesses who entered the raffle, with special recognition for Michael Guthrie Developments Ltd, who kindly moved his sponsorship to the back of the shirt for the 2020/21 season to allow us to conduct the raffle.

“Congratulations to Thrive Learning for being our raffle winner. I hope the company enjoys the exposure they’ll get from being on the front of all home, away and replica shirts this season and we look forward to meeting up with representatives from Thrive in the JB Lounge throughout the season.”
