Rangers come back twice to earn point against league leaders Montrose

Recent signings Ouzy See and Paul Willis struck for Berwick yesterday as Robbie Horn’s team came from behind twice to earn a point against Montrose.

The Gable Endies took an early lead in the 8th minute with an own goal from Wilson before Ouzy See latched on to Robby McCrorie’s long kick to even things in the 23rd minute. Close to half time Montrose regained the lead with a Gary Fraser shot.

The second half saw Berwick with the better of the play and courtesy of a free kick from Paul Willis that beat everyone and sailed inside Fleming’s far post it was all square again.

The result means a second successive draw against Top 2 opposition following on from last week’s trip to Peterhead.

The Black & Gold are home again next Saturday against Stirling Albion as they begin March action which will include five home fixtures.

Elsewhere in the league Peterhead cut Montrose’s lead to 3 points with a victory over bottom placed Cowdenbeath. Clyde’s recent good run ended with defeat at Stirling and Edinburgh City had a resounding 4-0 home victory over Elgin.
