Dempster latest Reserve addition

Berwick Rangers Reserves are pleased to confirm the signing of Andrew Dempster from Leith Athletic.

The 18-year-old midfielder has turned out in a number of SPFL Reserve League Two games this season and this has led to the permanent signing of the player until the end of the season. Previously with Spartans Youth and Leith Athletic boys club, the player will continue his development by going on loan to Leith Athletic in the East of Scotland League as well as playing with the Reserve team midweek.

Reserves Head Coach Derek McKenzie was delighted to welcome Dempster to the club: “We have been impressed with Andrew since we first saw him playing for Leith last season and as is the way we scout players we went back and seen him a number of times during last season before making our move. Andrew had a spell of injury at the start of the season which held him back a bit but after recovering and playing as a trialist in a couple of games at Raith and home to Livingston we made our move and I was delighted that Andrew has accepted our offer and I now challenge him to kick on and really impose himself on our team.

Dempster is expected to go straight into the squad for tonights match at Shielfield Park.
